Pilot Accomplishments

At Lanier Flight Center we recognize that our pilots are the heart of the business. It is with great pride that we join in celebrating their accomplishments and we wish a hearty congratulations to each of our pilots who have completed milestones in their training.

Scott Stokes - First Solo!

Scott Stokes, for the first time, took command of a Cessna 172S and acted as PIC during solo flight at the Gilmer Memorial Airport, Gainesville, GA! Scott has been at it for a few months and worked hard for it. After a number of years taking photos from airplanes, he decided that he wanted to fly them and began lessons.

Scott has been here working toward his private pilot certificate since 1/07 and is making fantastic progress. He is a student of John Corry and is teaching John as much about instructing as John is teaching him about flying. John watched Scott's solo with proud approval and looks forward to seeing him through to his pilot certificate. Way to go, Scott!
