I built model airplanes and flew them when I was a kid, and I went to air shows whenever possible. How did I start flying? I started flying when I was a graduate student at the University of Wisconsin (UW). I joined the UW flying club. When did I start flying? The first entry in my logbook reads 26 August 1967. I soloed on 10 October 1967 and was awarded my private license on 3 March 1968. What is my education level? I have a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering and a Master of Science degree in Civil Engineering. I have also completed two additional years of study in civil engineering beyond the master’s degree. I am a registered Professional Engineer and registered Professional Geologist in several states.
